Meet Our Team

I grew up in Shelby Township and graduated from high school in 2010. I went to college for Physical Therapy but accepted a job doing secretarial work for a friend’s business (Rick Young Insurance) while finishing school.After accepting a position in 2013, I became fascinated with the amount of individuals calling in with questions about their health insurance and if their medications were covered, surgeries, procedures, etc. With my background in physical therapy and some experience working in the insurance industry, I decided to take a different path. I became licensed to broker Medicare products across the states of Michigan, Florida, and Texas. I obtained my health and life insurance license and got certified with AHIP to work with Medicare consumers. In January of 2014, the Affordable Care Act passed and the entire health insurance industry changed overnight. Being young and naïve to the way things were and adapting to the new system we are in now allowed me to assemble a book of business very quickly. I now service thousands of individuals in an effort to help them find the best health insurance coverage possible. I love being able to work with all of the carriers and not being tied to one insurance company or another. It has allowed me to truly help people acquire the plan that fits their needs without steering anyone in one direction or another. I love what I do and am happy to be a part of this community!

Being a Michigan transplant from St. Louis, this wonderful small group of co-workers has become a work “family” to me for many years. I find it hard to believe that I have been with Rick Young Insurance since 2002. I am married with three children, have two fur babies, (dogs), and two grandchildren. I enjoy my title as a “Soccer Mom” over decades of U5 through Liverpool play and now, continuing with my grandchildren. Living in an active DIY renovation, my home is both a joy and curse as we modernize out of the 80’s and in to the current century. Designing this ourselves, I feel I could launch my own series – “Disaster to Dreamy”! Currently, I am involved with the Adams Drive foundation, which supports discovery research for the relationship between diet and cancer.

I started working for Rick Young Insurance as a temporary employee during open enrollment 2019.  In January, an administrative position opened, and I joined the staff full time.  If you have called the office, chances are you have spoken to me at least once.  I answer the phones, send emails, do enrollments and all other general administrative tasks.  I am also the point person for LifeSecure, Trusty Care and AFEUSA United Concordia Dental.  When I am not at the office, I enjoy quiet time at home with my two beagles who keep me busy letting them in and out and monitoring their squirrel and rabbit hunts in the yard.  When playtime is over, we settle down to watch old TV shows and farm animal videos on the internet.

Eric started in the insurance business at Rick Young Insurance in 1997 right out of college after graduating from Madonna University with a degree in Psychology where he also played baseball.  Eric is a proud and blessed father of 3 loving children: Brooke, Brady and Jenna (2003-2006).  In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Mike graduated Madonna University in 2003 with a Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He followed his brother Eric, working at Rick Young and Associates as a Health Insurance Agent in May 1999. Mike represents all the reliable Michigan Health Insurance carriers on the market and runs Butler Insurance Agency. He has a beautiful wife and 3 adorable, active children and a dog. He enjoys baseball and coaching his son’s baseball team and spending time with family and friends.

Ping started working at Rick Young Insurance in August 2020.  She has been an insurance agent since 2012. Ping graduated with a Master of Science in CAD/CAM from Eastern Michigan University. Previously, Ping worked as an Engineer in the automotive industry for 26 years. In Ping’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching movies, cooking, crocheting, and travelling.

I have been working at RYI since 2006.  Over the years my job duties have grown and my current title is Group Benefits Coordinator and HR Administration. My passion has always been helping people and employee/employer relations. Along with my long career at RYI, I have raised 3 beautiful daughters that I enjoy spending time with. In my spare time, I enjoy taking long walks with my dog Lexie, playing Scrabble, baking cookies, watching a good movie, and summer gardening. My friends would describe me as easy going, a good listener, looking on the bright side of things, trustworthy, and dependable. My long-term goals include traveling more, committing to a fitness routine, volunteering more, and sprinkling kindness everywhere I go.

I was born and raised in Shelby Township and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 2010. After earning my Bachelor of Science in Finance from Grand Valley State University, I entered the health insurance industry at Rick Young Insurance while also working at a local finance company. After a few years it was clear that the insurance industry was going to be more rewarding personally, and I left my finance position. Joining just before the Affordable Care Act became a law helped me see a new side of insurance with fresh eyes. It has now been over 8 years and I could not be happier. When I am not working, I usually spend time with my dog Luna, hang out with my friends, or watch whatever ball game is on tv.

I was raised in Shelby Twp., graduated from Eisenhower High School in 2010 and furthered my education at Grand Valley State University where I majored in Finance. After college, I already knew I would be joining the ever-growing team at Rick Young Insurance and am currently studying for my Series 7 license so I can explore the world of finance that I enjoyed back in college. I have been involved in the health insurance industry for 7 years, and as an independent agent licensed in almost every carrier out there, I have the ability to find the best plan for you instead of shoehorning you into a single carrier. I started just after Obamacare took over, joining this industry at the most interesting time since everyone was starting from scratch with this new system.
