Scholarships for the Graduating Class of 2012
Rick Young had the privilege of awarding four, $1,000 scholarships to seniors at Eisenhower High School during Honors Night held on May 23rd. 3 scholarships were awarded by the Shelby Community Foundation and 1 was awarded by the Young Family Foundation, which is in honor of Kirk Young, a 1978 graduate of Eisenhower High School who recently passed away.
Mountain of Food Drive 2011-2012
Rick Young Insurance sponsored the 4th Annual Mountain of Food Drive. This year, we had the pleasure of partnering with Gleaner's, a local food bank, who supported our local food delivery!
We had more high schools participate than any year before. Thanks to all the high schools, teachers, and students who participated.
The high school that collected the most non-perishable food items and cash donations received a $5,000 donation from Rick Young Insurance! This year, that high school was Cabrini High School in Allen Park, GO MONARCHS!
Individual students who collected over certain amounts of cash or canned goods qualified for cool incentives such as a Cedar Point Tickets, Lions Tickets, Pistons Tickets and autographed team jerseys!
Troy and Taylor Young are each shooting 1,000 free throws for pledges. That effort has totaled $50,000 over 3 years!
Donations are greatly appreciated, and keep an eye out for the 5th Mountain of Food Drive later this year! Please put this on your fall calendar and we will be following up once the school year starts. Each dollar donated is worth 3 cans of food!
