A Medicaid report has concluded that a health insurer fee taxing companies to fund the expansions in coverage is a considerable cost to states. One-sixth of it will be paid by Medicaid health plans.

The part applying to Medicaid care organizations will be paid completely by state Medicaid programs.

According to scenarios it will cost about $38.4 billion over a ten year period starting in 2014. The cost to the states is about $13.6 billion, while the federal government will have the cost of about $24.8 billion.

This health insurer fee, which has been introduced by the Affordable Care Act, must be handled carefully due to the cost involved. States, insurance companies, and residents should not need to be hurt due to any mistakes made in the law.
